CHARLESTON, SC (August 26th, 2020) – Novus is proud to announce that Ashley McCormick, Principal of Healthcare, has been accepted to the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Charleston Class of 2021.
Offering an intensive and up-close look at the most challenging issues and opportunities facing the Charleston region, Leadership Charleston introduces leaders to the realities, opportunities and challenges of the region’s civic and business communities. Participants experience the power of working with other community leaders and organizations for positive growth and advancement of the region.
Through community immersion and interactions with diverse leaders, the program cultivates leaders and ignites the advancement of the Charleston region. Throughout the yearlong program, the class will meet each month, with program days focused on a facet of the community, such as local government, military, philanthropy and economic development.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Ashley for several years,” says Novus Managing Principal, Josh Allison, “and while she has already proven herself to be a fantastic leader and mentor at Novus, I am excited that Ashley has the opportunity to advance and grow with Leadership Charleston. Through this unprecedented time, Ashley has been a strong proponent for positive change in the healthcare community, advocating for the health and safety of patients and staff in hospitals, clinics, and medical offices. I look forward to seeing what else she is able to accomplish with the guidance of Leadership Charleston and with the class of 2021.”
Ashley is a graduate of Clemson University’s School of Architecture and has been with Novus Architects since 2005. She has over 18 years of experience in architecture, managing commercial, institutional, educational and healthcare projects. Ashley was promoted to Healthcare Principal in 2017, and has led her team in a vast array work ranging from small interior renovations, to multi-million dollar new construction projects. In 2018, Ashley was awarded Charleston Business Journal’s “Charleston Forty Under 40” in recognition of her success and community involvement in the architecture industry. She is also a fellow of Roper St. Francis Foundation, and participates in volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, Dragon Boat Charleston, and American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Charleston. Ashley enjoys spending her free time cooking, practicing yoga, spending time with family and friends at the beach, and playing ‘mom’ to her two Bassett Hounds, Murphy and Ferguson.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ashley McCormick to the Leadership Charleston Class of 2021,” said Charleston Metro Chamber President & CEO Bryan Derreberry. “In this time of turmoil and uncertainty, having leaders who are rooted in their communities and committed to the advancement of our region is imperative. I look forward to seeing what this incoming class learns and experiences over the next year.”
Upon graduating in August 2021, Ashley McCormick will become a Leadership Charleston Alumna, part of a distinguished group of leaders that includes Chamber Board of Directors, elected officials and prominent local leaders.
